 Episode 13: Abby Guiness

Spring Harvest is Back!

Spring Harvest brings the whole church together to worship, learn and share life as we encounter God.

We're passionate about creating events and resources that make space for God to do his awe-inspiring work in and through all of us.

We are active all year round, locally and nationally, physically and digitally. We’re best known for our brilliant Easter holidays, hosted at the fantastic Butlin's resorts.

There’s still time to book for Spring Harvest, in person, and online this year!

 Episode 09: Debra Green

Read Debra’s Story in Full in her book Mountain Moving Prayer

The toughest challenges can be tackled, defeated and shifted aside by faith-fuelled prayer. Relational struggles, financial strangleholds, emotional strife; whatever your mountain, through prayer God's power can move it.

The huge challenges casting shadows across our communities can also be addressed through prayer. 'God will move our personal mountains, but we mustn't stop there. His goal is to transform the lives of those around us as well,' observes Debra. 'God's call to me from the very beginning was to focus prayer on the big, specific issues causing social fragmentation: lack of aspiration amongst young people, elderly isolation, family failures, distrust and separation between ethnic groups. These mountains need moving in most neighbourhoods.'

The Wellbeing journey

Sim recommended The Wellbeing Journey as a great course to run with your church or with a group of friends if you’re looking to explore this area of Wellbeing in more depth. It’s an 8-part video based series that’s best run in a group.

BOOK: John Mark Comer: The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry

Both Ed and Sim recommended this in this episode - it’s a challenging book, but really interesting read, especially if you want to explore more about what a Sabbath could look like for you.

Free: Every Day with Jesus Podcast

Ed often (but not always!) starts his day with the Every Day with Jesus Podcast. It’s just 4 to 5 mins of daily scripture and reflection from Micha Jazz at Waverley Abbey Trust. A great way to centre yourself as you start to the day.

Free: Hero on a mission daily planner

One of the things Ed has found most useful is using a daily planner to start his day. The one he uses is from from Donald Millar’s Hero on a Mission Course. You don’t have to do the course though to get the planner, which is downloadable from the Hero on a Mission website. (Just click on “daily planner” in the top navigation). It’s easy enough to work out how to use it, even if you haven’t done the course - Although Ed also recommends that.
